The SAC is conscious of the need to make every effort to provide accurate information about the practice of both organisations and individuals to allow clients and professionals to make informed choices when seeking a counsellor or agency.  To this end evidence of public liability insurance and membership of a recognised professional body are required.

Membership of a recognised professional body means that the counsellor or organisation can be held to account for their practice and are covered by a complaints procedure. We have listed the recognised national associations and given details of their published aims.
